Twitter is the current leader in Social Networking micro-blogging. Micro-blogging is about broadcasting (tweeting) 140 character messages to your followers. The 140 character limit follows the text messaging standard established for cell phones. Ideally the messages that you send will be re-broadcast (re-tweeted) by your followers to their followers. Twitter is the way to get messages out rapidly to your followers. I have to admit that early on when I looked at Twitter I wondered what is all the excitement. There are thousands of 140 character messages every minute and there is no way that anyone can see them or see if there is anything of value. You can customize your Twitter profile; many of the customizations can be changed at any time, but there are a couple that can only be set when the account is created. Building your Facebook network is your task at hand. A large network is key to whatever you are looking to accomplish; whether it is a new career opportunity, new sales contacts, new partners, whatever. A large and strong network is critical. With this being the case one great way to build your network is to check the Friends with any new Friends that you add. There are bound to be people you know or want to connect with if your new contact's list is of any size.
